Donald Trump found ‘responsible’ for sexual abuse
After a week of hearings in Manhattan Federal Court, a 9-member jury of 3 women today found in Carroll’s favor.
After nearly two and a half hours of deliberation, the jury found Trump liable for “sexual assault,” “assault” and “insult” in Carroll’s civil lawsuit. In the decision, the allegation that Trump raped Carroll was denied.
The jury said that Trump should pay Carroll $2 million for sexual harassment and assault and $3 million for defamation, for a total of $5 million in damages.
“THIS DECISION IS A SHAME”
Minutes after the decision was announced, Trump shared on his social media account: “I have no idea who this woman is. This decision is shameful, the sequel to the biggest witch hunt of all time.” he shared his statements.
E. Magazine writer Jean Carroll publicly announced in 2019 that Trump sexually assaulted and raped her in the dressing room of the Bergdorf Goodman store in New York in the spring of 1996.
Trump, on the other hand, denied the allegations, saying, “That woman is not my type.” (AA)
