The wedding days turned into a nightmare… The bride died, the groom was seriously injured
Samantha Hutchinson and Aric Hutchinson mourned family members in an accident just after their South Carolina wedding.
Authorities said the bride was killed and the groom seriously injured when a drunk driver struck them as they were leaving the couple’s wedding reception.
Bride Samantha Hutchinson, 34, was photographed happily leaving the party around 10 p.m. However, a drunk driver hit the golf cart where she and her husband Aric Hutchinson were behind.
While Samantha died, Aric and the couple’s relatives, Ben Garrett and Brogan Garrett, were seriously injured.
The groom’s mother opened a GoFundMe page and said: “Five hours after reading each other’s vows, they gave me the wedding rings in a plastic bag. Aric has lost the love of his life”.
He described the accident in these words: “The golf cart was thrown more than 100 meters and rolled several times.”
The woman said her son, Aric, suffered a brain injury and broke several bones, and that his face was bruised across much of his face and was in serious condition.
According to the news, Ben Garrett, who was accompanying the couple, is also in serious condition.
The driver of the car, which turned the couple’s happy day into a nightmare, 25-year-old Jamie Lee Komoroski, was arrested following the incident.
Police said Komoroski’s blood results are pending, but the accident investigation determined Komoroski was traveling about 105 km/h when he collided with his golf cart.

The GoFundMe fundraiser, started by Hutchinson’s mother, will help pay for the bride’s funeral and medical expenses for the groom and his family.
Samantha’s employer, XenTegra, an international IT provider based in Huntersville, North Carolina, also shared the news of the girlfriend’s death on LinkedIn, stating that she is an “integral member” of their team:
“Samantha brought a lot of joy and laughter to the workplace. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Samantha was a wonderful person. Over the past few months, our team has been able to join in on her excitement by sharing photos from her upcoming wedding. We will always remember Samantha’s smile, laugh, and dedication to her work, friends, and her family.”
