Zelensky: There is no peace with territorial concessions
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy, in a statement on his social media account, gave information about the details of his telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Noting that the meeting lasted about 1 hour, Zelenskiy stated that bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting, saying, “We discussed ways to strengthen the Ukraine-China partnership. China was Ukraine’s number one trading partner before the full-scale Russian offensive. I believe that our meeting today will give a strong impetus to the return, preservation and development of this line of development at all levels.” he used his statements.
Zelenskiy also stated that they discussed “possible ways of interaction with the aim of establishing a just and stable peace for Ukraine” with Xi, saying:
“No one wants peace as much as the Ukrainian people. We are in our own land and we fight for our future making use of the indispensable right to legitimate defense. Peace must be just and sustainable, based on respect for the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. There can be no peace with territorial concessions. Ukraine’s territorial integrity must be restored within its 1991 borders.” (AA)
