Russian mercenary army: no one gives ammunition to soldiers
Yevgeniy Prigojin, the founder of the Russian security company Wagner, claimed that the Russian mercenaries and soldiers who took part in the clashes in Bahmut had ammunition problems.
Prigojin, also known as the “Kremlin cook”, made a statement on his company’s social media account called “Konkord”. Expressing that the last rains will fall in Ukraine on May 2 and then the soil will dry out in the wind, Prigokhin said that after this process, the Ukrainian army will be ready for a counterattack. Prigojin noted that Ukrainian troops can launch an offensive on May 9, Victory Day.
Referring to the situation in Bahmut, Prigojin said that the Ukrainian troops are ready to enter here and close the flanks of the area where the Russian forces are located. Stating that the wings were not protected by anyone, Prigojin claimed that the explanations that the reserve Ukrainian soldiers were prevented from entering the city of Bahmut were not true.
Prigojin said: “Not a single soldier fires a single shot. “Nobody gives them (Russian soldiers) or us ammunition,” he said. Prigojin, who claimed that the ammunition was accumulated in warehouses by a criminal group, claimed that the number of fighters in Wagner decreased due to the departure of those who were killed, wounded and whose contracts had expired.
Noting that they are preparing new fighters, Prigojin said: “But we will not send them until they become fighters who can defend the interests of the state and are fully prepared. “Wagner has already accomplished his historic mission,” he said.
TENSION BETWEEN WAGNER AND THE ARMY
In February, the Russian security company Wagner sought the support of the Russian Defense Ministry, claiming that “they were no longer supplied with ammunition.”
The Russian Defense Ministry also stated that statements about “problems with ammunition supply” did not reflect the truth. However, on April 11, the Russian Ministry of Defense ruled for the first time in a long time regarding the actions of the Russian security company Wagner in Ukraine, reporting several days in a row about the advance of the Wagner assault detachments in Bahmut. .
The statements made gave rise to comments that the tension between the Russian Defense Ministry and Wagner had ended. (AA)
