Turkish citizen detained at Masjid al-Aqsa released

Turkish national Özgecan Mutlu (24) detained by Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning was released after being banned from entering Aksa for a week.

The Turkish Consulate General in Jerusalem reported that Mutlu, who was at Masjid al-Aqsa during the raid by fanatical Jewish settlers, was released and taken over by consular staff. It was claimed that Mutlu is currently at the Turkish Consulate General in Jerusalem.

It was reported that the Israeli police barred Mutlu from entering the Masjid al-Aqsa for a week.

In a statement made by the Israeli police spokesman to the AA correspondent, it was stated that Mutlu “did not behave in accordance with Aksa and caused difficulties for police officers working in the region.” In the statement, it was stated that Mutlu prevented the police from carrying out his duty and did not follow his instructions, for which he was detained.

According to information received from his friends, Mutlu was reading the Koran near the Rahmet Mosque in Aksa during the raid carried out by fanatical Jews this morning, while the Israeli police tried to get him out of there and took his bag.

The police tried to get Mutlu out by walking towards Aksa’s Esbat Gate with her bag in hand. Mutlu, who was after her bag for a while, was stopped by several police officers when she wanted to re-enter Aksa and they took her out of Aksa. (AA)
