Incident that confused Britain: Prince William received money to file a complaint
According to the news in the local media, the hearing of the lawsuit filed by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, son of King Charles III of England, for allegedly obtaining private information through wiretapping of The Sun newspaper, continued today. .
At the hearing, Prince Harry’s lawyer, David Sherborne, filed court papers on allegations that News Group Newspapers (NGN), to which The Sun is affiliated, obtained information about people illegally.
However, the documents draw attention with allegations about Prince William, the crown prince of England.
According to the documents, Prince William gave up complaining about taking “a large amount” of money from NGN, owned by world-famous media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
Supposedly, although the agreement between the parties took place in 2020, Queen Elizabeth, who died last year, was also included in the negotiations.
Furthermore, Sherborne claimed that the deal was made between members of Royal and NGN, although lawyers at the time also objected.
THEY HAVE PRESENTED A LEGAL ACTION FOR THE “SERIOUS VIOLATIONS OF PRIVACY”
Prince Harry has also filed a “breach of privacy” lawsuit against other media outlets in the country.
Among them, in the lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), owner of the Daily Mail, names such as Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, Elton John and David Furnish, as well as Prince Harry, are among the complainants.
The plaintiffs allege that they suffered “serious breaches of privacy” as a result of “heinous criminal acts” allegedly committed by ANL, and that their private information was misused.
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, previously sued British newspaper The Mail On Sunday for defamation and won in July 2022.
On October 4, 2019, Prince Harry sued The Sun and Daily Mail, as well as the Daily Mirror and the now-defunct News of the World, for “hacking” phone messages. (AA)
