The balance worsens in the conflicts in Sudan

The United Nations (UN) reported that the number of people who lost their lives due to ongoing clashes between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (HDK) in Sudan rose to 427.

According to a written statement from the UN Office for Humanitarian Coordination (OCHA), the conflict that began on April 15 continues in Sudan.

At least 427 people died in armed conflicts and more than 3,700 were injured.
At least 11 health centers have been attacked and many health centers in the states of Khartoum and Darfur are out of service in the country, which has seen a sharp rise in the prices of essential goods due to the famine.

Civilians from conflict zones have fled to Chad, Egypt and South Sudan, while many international organizations have evacuated their staff from places where they are currently unable to operate. International organizations continue their services wherever possible.

On the morning of April 15, armed clashes broke out between the army and HDK paramilitaries in Khartoum and other cities. The disagreement between the army and the HDK over the military security reform, which provides for the “full participation of the HDK in the army”, had become a hot-button conflict in recent months.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Army Commander, General Abdulfettah al-Burhan, had decided to dissolve the HDK, which clashed with the army, and declare a rebel force against the state, and that they would act consequently. base. HDK announced that it would implement a 72-hour “humanitarian” ceasefire from the first day of vacation, and the army announced that it would comply with the ceasefire call from international circles at night.
