UFO reports rain down on the US military
Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon)-affiliated Office of All-Field Anomaly Resolution, said they are currently investigating more than 650 reports of unidentified flying objects, also known as “UFOs.” among the public.
Kirkpatrick spoke at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on new threats and capabilities. Commenting on the activities of his office, which was established in August last year, Kirkpatrick said the number of unidentified flying objects he is currently examining stands at 650.
“Of the 650+ cases that we have, we’ve prioritized half of them as having interesting outliers, and we’re going to review them to see how much data we have on them,” Kirkpatrick said.
‘WE CANNOT RESOLVE AN IMAGE’
In the report released by the National Intelligence Directorate on January 12, the total number of identified flying objects was 510. At the session, Kirkpatrick, who showed two declassified images, stated that one of them could be resolved, but not yet. They were able to solve the other.
The first video showed a small sphere passing through the camera screen of an MQ-9 drone in the Middle East in 2022. The camera followed the subject as it moved, and the object in question moved in and out of frame several times.
Kirkpatrick explained that it has not been resolved what this object is, since there is no other evidence other than a video, it is almost impossible to identify it. The American bureaucrat said: “It will be almost impossible to define precisely based on this video alone.”
The second video showed an object flying past two MQ-9s in South Asia earlier this year, and Kirkpatrick said the object was initially believed to be “really unusual.” It was only when the video was split frame by frame that it was determined to be a “shadow image” from a drone, Kirkpatrick said.
Kirkpatrick once again emphasized that there is no evidence of extraterrestrial life among the data in his hands, as the events were supposed to be. (AA)
