Another European country has stopped importing cereals from Ukraine
In a statement from the Slovak Ministry of Agriculture, “The processing and marketing of already stored Ukrainian grains and flour is strictly prohibited. In the verified sample, the presence of a pesticide not authorized in the European Union and that has a negative impact on human health has been confirmed. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic, together with its other subsidiaries, will ensure the collection of all grain and flour samples from Ukraine and stored in Slovakia.
A pesticide is a chemical used in agriculture to destroy and control unwanted pests, weeds, and insects that have the potential to harm crops and plants.
COME AFTER POLAND AND HUNGARY
The Ministry of Agriculture of Poland and Hungary announced that it had stopped importing grain from Ukraine.
“Hungary will temporarily ban the import of grains and oilseeds originating from Ukraine, as well as some other agricultural products,” the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement. The continuation of the current market processes will damage Hungarian agriculture so badly that extraordinary measures must be taken to stop them.
The Polish Ministry of Agriculture said: “We support Ukraine and will continue to support it. But the duty of the State is to protect the interests of its citizens.
