Guilty person who threw eggs at King Charles of England

According to country press reports, the hearing in the case against Thelwell, 23, who threw an egg at King Charles, was held at York Magistrates Court.

At trial, Thelwell admitted to throwing eggs, arguing that it was “an act of violence that goes without punishment”.

Judge Paul Goldspring found Thelwell guilty of threatening behavior at the end of the trial, ruling that he had disturbed the peace.

Thelwell, who egged the King, was sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of community service, plus a fine.

King Charles and his wife Camilla meet the public in York, where they visited to unveil the statue of Queen Elizabeth II, on November 9, 2022, as a protester in the crowd hurled eggs at the King and Queen.

The eggs were seen to land in front of the King and did not hit him.

The person stopped by the police shouted: “This country was built on the blood of slaves.”

Some in the crowd were heard shouting “God bless the king” and “Shame on you” at the protester. (AA)
