Rocket attack on US base

In Deir ez-Zor, rocket attacks were carried out from regions where Iranian-backed foreign terror groups are present, to the Kuniko gas field, where US forces are stationed.

The sources claimed the rockets were fired from Bukemal, east of Deir ez-Zor, where Iran-backed foreign terror groups are present.

Military points belonging to the US and coalition forces operating in Syria are occasionally subjected to rocket attacks from regions where Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups are present.

On March 25, Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups launched rocket attacks on the Omar oil and Kuniko gas fields.

Deir ez-Zor is the city that provides the land connection from Iran to Lebanon. Oil pipelines and trade routes from Iraq and Jordan also pass through this city.

The city center and west of Deir ez-Zor fell into the hands of the Assad regime after ISIS withdrew in November 2017 with the help of Iranian- and Russian-backed groups.

Iranian-backed foreign terror groups, which have become the regime’s ground power, are heavily present in Deir ez-Zor.

The Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Afghan and Pakistani groups stationed in Deir ez-Zor, where the Sunni Arabs live, are commanded by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Army.

The territory of Deir ez-Zor, east of the Euphrates River, is occupied by the US-backed PKK/YPG terrorist organization. (AA)
