Research that worries the US: This has not been seen for 120 years

The study, published in the Climate Journal of the American Meteorological Society, noted the rapid rise in sea levels observed along the US Gulf of Mexico coast.

In the study, it was noted that about 10 millimeters of sea level rise has been detected on the region’s coasts since 2010, which corresponds to about 12 centimeters so far.

“NO WIFE IN 120 YEARS”

Noting that the average global sea level rise is 4.5 millimeters per year, the study emphasized that the observed rise along the US Gulf of Mexico coasts is “unprecedented in at least 120 years.”

In the study, it was noted that the Gulf of Mexico is warming faster than the oceans as part of climate change, warm waters spread naturally and cause sea level rise on the region’s coasts.

“FEEL ITS IMPACT”

“The entire southeast coast of the United States and the Gulf Coast are feeling the pinch of momentum from sea level rise,” said Jianjun Yin, a climate scientist at the University of Arizona who conducted the study. he performed the assessment of it.

3 CITIES IN DANGER

Jianjun Yin affirmed that the hurricanes that have occurred in the region in recent years have further increased the sea level, noting that in the long run these rises will pose a danger especially for settlements near the coast in the states of Texas, Louisiana and Florida. (AA)
