Israel’s decision on Gaza and the West Bank

According to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN), Minister Gallant has decided to extend the closure of some streets and crossing points in the West Bank and border gates in Gaza, which will end tonight, until the end of Passover (April 12). for security reasons.

Gallant also ordered the army to join police units to ensure security.

The decision made by the Minister of Defense also includes the cancellation of the permits granted for the month of Ramadan.

THE BORDER GATES ARE CLOSED

Should Israel decide to close, the border gates at Kerm Ebu Salim, where commercial goods enter Gaza, and Beit Hanun (Erez), which is used for passenger crossing, will be closed.

In the West Bank, some crossing points and streets that pass through Jewish settlements are closed and work permits granted to Palestinian workers inside Israel are frozen.

Special Ramadan permits allow women, children and elderly residents of the West Bank to enter Israel.

In the besieged Gaza Strip, home to more than two million Palestinians, 6 of the 7 border crossings are under Israeli control and one under Egyptian control.

The Israeli administration closed the Karadere border gate, which the armed forces used to enter and exit, in 2005, and the other 3 gates in 2007. Israel currently allows the operation of Kerm Abu Salim for the passage of commercial goods and border crossing of Beit Hanoun for the passage of passengers. (AA)
