The latest situation in the Israel-Lebanon crisis… Tensions rise in the region

In a statement made by the Israeli army, it was noted that the armed forces shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle that was detected to have entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon.

Information about the type of downed UAV and to whom it belonged was not provided.

EGYPT: WE ARE CONCERNED

Following the raids on Masjid al-Aqsa and rocket attacks from Lebanon into the northern regions of Israel, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a written statement.

In the statement, it was stated that Egypt is deeply concerned by developments in the region following the attacks by Israeli forces on those who pray and perform Itikaf at Masjid al-Aqsa.

Noting that after this tension, rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel, followed by Israel’s attack on southern Lebanon and Gaza, the statement said: “All parties must restrain, respond to efforts to calm the situation and stop the shedding of blood.” he was called.

The statement warned that if the current wave of violence continues, great dangers lie in wait for the region.

HAMAS MEETS WITH RUSSIA

According to a written Hamas statement, Hamas Political Bureau member Musa Abu Marzuk and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Special Representative for Middle Eastern and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov held a phone call.

During the meeting, the parties discussed “Zionism’s attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, the need to stop them immediately and the continued attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa.”

Abu Marzuk, who told the Russian official about Israel’s violations against Palestine, stated that he is committed to the rights of the Palestinian people and that Hamas will defend the Palestinian people in every possible way.

Bogdanov also expressed his country’s stance of supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and Russia’s efforts with relevant parties for the rights of the Palestinian people.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The disproportionate use of force by Israeli police, using sound bombs, rubber-coated bullets and batons, against Muslims at the Al-Aqsa Mosque for two nights in a row, escalated tension in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Israeli army announced yesterday that a series of rockets were fired from Lebanon towards the northern regions of the country and warning sirens were activated in the northern regions of the country.

In the evening, the army announced that three mortar shells were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel.

The Israeli emergency service, the Red Star of David, shared that one Israeli suffered minor injuries and another was injured while escaping to the shelter.

The Israeli army announced that the rocket attacks were carried out by Hamas elements stationed in Lebanon and blamed Hamas and the Lebanese government for what happened.

Subsequently, the Israeli army carried out simultaneous attacks in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
