Nato plan for Ukrainian offensive leaked: ‘Top secret’ Related articles

Secret NATO and US documents have been leaked outlining plans for a Ukraine offensive. The messages are widely spread on social media. The Pentagon is investigating how the leak may have started.

The documents were dated about five weeks ago, but have only been circulating on social media since this week. The documents mention, among other things, the need for Ukraine to prepare troops for an offensive against Russia. “It’s strictly secret and it’s on Twitter,” says foreign commentator Bernard Hammelburg.

However, the details in the report are startling. “The Pentagon confirmed it, except for the casualty estimate. In this, the number of Russians was greatly reduced, while the number of Ukrainian casualties increased significantly.’ According to Hammelburg, this could indicate that Russia is involved in the leak. ‘I think this is really why Americans have sounded the alarm. There is something inspiring about Russia showing it like this.’

Ukraine aims at the Kremlin

Ukraine also thinks the Kremlin is involved and points to a disinformation campaign. According to Kiev, “much” of the report is filled with “fictitious information”. American analysts tell the New York Times that much of it is authentic.

The “top secret” document contains a lot of information about Ukraine’s equipment. For example, it describes military training, conducted by the United States and NATO members, among others. The need for 250 tanks and 350 infantry fighting vehicles for the Ukrainian offensive is also mentioned.
