Support for the coalition in Germany dwindles

According to the survey conducted in Germany, the voting rates of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in the coalition government decreased.

According to the survey conducted by the public opinion research company YouGov with approximately 2,000 people, the share of the votes of the parties that form the government decreased to 41 percent. The SPD’s vote rate was claimed to have dropped to 20 percent, the FDP to 6 percent, while the Greens retained 15 percent of the vote.

It was indicated that 68 percent of those surveyed said they were not satisfied with the work of the government, only 26 percent were satisfied.

In the general elections held in September 2021 in Germany, the SPD won approximately 26%, the Greens approximately 15% and the FDP 11.5%. For their part, the Christian Union Parties (CDU-CSU), which became the main opposition with 25 percent of the vote in 2021, increased the vote to 30 percent.

The voting rate for the far-right Alternative Party for Germany (AfD), which received 10.3 percent of the vote, was claimed to be around 17 percent. (AA)
