Medal ‘White Eagle’ of the Polish leader to Zelenskiy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who visited Warsaw, received the “White Eagle”, the country’s highest honor, from Polish President Andrzej Duda.
Polish President Duda presented the aforementioned medal to Zelenskiy at the Presidential Palace. Thanking Zelenskiy for his virtues in deepening relations between Poland and Ukraine, Duda said that he received the “Order of the White Eagle” for his security activities, his struggle and his determination in defending rights humans.
In his speech at the ceremony during the presentation of the order, Duda said: “The Order of the White Eagle is the oldest and most valuable Polish order. Awarded to exceptional people who have made exceptional contributions to the Republic of Poland and the lives around it. Mr. Zelensky, there is no doubt that you are special. It is very difficult to hide my tears while watching your service to the country. You did not leave Ukraine or your compatriots. You are an exemplary leader of the state and nation.”
It is reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will discuss with Polish President Duda and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki today the military and economic relations between the two countries and Warsaw’s role in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller stated that Poland and Ukraine are in constant contact, saying: “Poland has become a place of refuge for Ukrainian citizens. The Poles became the epitome of solidarity and support. Helping Ukraine today is also very important for the security of our country and the whole of Europe. “After Ukraine, other European countries, including Poland, may also become Russian targets,” he said.
