Israel demolished more than 12,000 Palestinian homes
The Earth Research Center, affiliated with the Jerusalem-based Arab Research Association, issued a written statement on the occasion of Soil Day on March 30.
In the statement, it was claimed that Israel has demolished 12,350 residences in the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.
The statement claimed that the destruction took place in Arab villages in Israel and in Bedouin villages where Palestinians live, and that the village of Arakib, where Palestinian Bedouins live, was destroyed 214 times in the Najaf desert.
In the statement, it was claimed that Israeli forces uprooted more than 2 million olive trees during the same period.
Emphasizing that Israeli forces are still killing Palestinians on the 47th anniversary of Land Day, the statement noted that the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the year has exceeded 90.
The Separation Wall (Wall of Shame) and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) affiliated Council to Combat Jewish Settlements declared on March 29 that the total destruction warning issued by Israel in 2022 was 1220 .
SOIL DAY
On March 30, 1976, Israel seized thousands of acres of land belonging to Palestinian Israeli citizens living in the northern Galilee region of the country.
Immediately afterwards, the Palestinian people began a general strike and organized demonstrations to protest this usurpation. Israeli police opened fire on Palestinians taking part in the demonstrations, killing 6 people and injuring many.
This event, known as “Land Day,” is seen as a symbol of Palestinian resistance over land, which is the source of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (AA)
