Denmark is in big trouble with soldiers
According to the CPH Post report, the army’s second-in-command, Brigadier General Henrik Lyhne, told local television channel TV 2 that the Danish army has the most advanced weapons in the world, but is facing a shortage of soldiers.
Stating that it will take years for the country to have a war-ready army, Lyhne expressed doubts about Denmark’s ability to achieve NATO goals.
“This is an emergency call,” Lyhne said. The situation is extremely critical as we have a shortage of soldiers like never before. I have been in the military for 40 years and the situation has never been worse.” she used the phrase.
IT WILL TAKE YEARS TO BUILD A FIGHTING ARMY
Emphasizing that 20 to 25 percent of available army positions are unfilled, Lyhne said: “Even if more funding is provided in the near future, it will take years to build a combative army.” he performed the assessment of it.
Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen also acknowledged that the situation was “critical” and said he had held the first of a long series of meetings with the military on the issue.
According to TV 2, Denmark meets only three of the 17 “power targets” set by the Defense Ministry. (AA)
