Guterres: Climate change is making our world uninhabitable

United Nations (UN) Secretary General Guterres made a written statement on the occasion of World Meteorology Day. Stating that the inability to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees brings the world closer to a “climate disaster”, Guterres said everyone must meet their responsibilities to future generations.

Emphasizing the need to change energy and transportation systems, Guterres noted that renewable energy should be embraced by reducing reliance on the use of fossil fuels.

Guterres said that financial and technical support should be given to developing countries to reduce carbon emissions.

Underlining that 2023 should be “the year of transformation, not distraction,” Guterres said, “climate change is making our world uninhabitable. Now we have to end our senseless war against nature.” he used his statements. (AA)
