UK plans to implement Rwanda plan in summer
According to information obtained by Sky News from government sources, the UK is aiming to re-enact its plan to deport immigrants to Rwanda, especially given the increase in the number of irregular migrants coming into the country by crossing the English Channel.
In the UK, which wants to implement the plan by the summer, Home Secretary Suella Braverman decided yesterday to extend the previous Memorandum of Understanding on Immigration and Economic Development Cooperation with Rwandan Foreign Minister Vincent Biruta.
In the statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior, it was indicated that the two countries will continue to make efforts to solve the global migration crisis.
In the statement, which noted that according to the signed memorandum of understanding, people who were deported to Rwanda will receive support to establish their new lives, Biruta said he reiterated that his country is ready to receive thousands of irregular migrants from England.
“We don’t want to see people risking their lives crossing the English Channel,” Braverman said.
Braverman also noted that Rwanda is a secure and fast-growing economy.
In his statement, Biruta argued that an urgent and innovative solution must be found to combat the global migration crisis, saying: “For these reasons, we are pleased to renew our commitment to our innovative partnership with the UK, which shares our determination to resolve this crisis made its assessment.
WILL BE EXPORTED IN 28 DAYS
The UK government, which has prepared a bill to prevent irregular migrants from entering the country through the English Channel, plans to detain irregular migrants as soon as they are caught.
According to the bill, detained irregular immigrants will be deported to their countries of origin or to safe third countries within 28 days without judicial investigation.
Irregular immigrants who have been deported will seek legal rights and seek asylum after being deported.
Any person who enters the country illegally will not have the right to request asylum.
DISCUSSION-GENERAL PLAN
Britain announced its aim to send irregular migrants and asylum seekers who entered the country illegally to Rwanda within the scope of the “Rwanda Plan” prepared last year.
The high court declared the plan to send immigrants to Rwanda illegal and stopped the plane waiting at the airport to go to Rwanda on June 14.
With the Rwanda Plan, which caused great reactions in the world, England agreed to pay 120 million pounds over 5 years to Rwanda to meet the needs of immigrants.
