Russia: we appeal to the US to clarify the explosions

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova made remarks on the items on the agenda at her weekly press conference in the capital Moscow.

“Has the Russian side asked the US for clarification on the explosions on the Nord Stream lines?” Responding to the question, Zaharova said: “We made a public statement on this issue and we talked to the US representatives about it. So our answer is yes.” saying.

Recalling that the Russian Foreign Ministry made a statement on the incident earlier, Zakharova noted that this statement emphasized that the United States should clarify the explosions and not hinder the investigation process.

“THE HAGUE COURT CASE WILL MEAN NOTHING TO US”

Assessing the New York Times’ claim that the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands will file a lawsuit against Russia’s crimes in Ukraine, Zaharova drew attention to the fact that this claim was based on uncertain sources.

Zaharova said: “Even if such a thing is prepared in court, it definitely won’t mean anything for our country in terms of law. Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and has no obligations under this statute. Therefore, Russia does not cooperate with this institution.” he said.

“WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE EXPANSION OF THE AUKUS ALLIANCE”

Noting that the AUKUS alliance established by the US, England and Australia has started to expand, Zaharova said they are concerned about this.

Referring to the downing of the US MQ-9 type UAV in the Black Sea, Zaharova emphasized that the agreement between the former Soviet Union and the US in 1972 on the prevention of incidents in the open sea and airspace is not valid for this event.

Assessing Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that “Russia is responsible for the current situation in Karabakh,” Zaharova said: “We regard the statements of the Armenian administration as a continuation of the position held in Prague in October 2022 under the auspices of the European Union (EU). We therefore leave attempts to hold third countries responsible for the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh to the conscience of the Armenian administration,” he used the phrases. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
