Higashitani, an MP from the “Anti-NHK Party”, known for his policies against Japan’s Public Television “Nihon Housou Kyokai” (NHK), had previously been criticized for not going to parliament since he was elected.

GaaSyy, who did not use her right to apologize last week in parliament, was referred to the parliamentary disciplinary committee for disorderly conduct. GaaSyy, who did not apologize directly to the legislators for her behavior, in addition to not attending the sessions, received the most serious sentence.

In the session held on the fate of his parliamentary career, Higaşitani was demoted by the votes of the pro-government and opposition deputies.

Hiroshige Seko, secretary general of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), said in a statement that almost all political groups voted to expel GaaSyy.

According to the parliamentary statement, since his election in July 2022, the Japanese YouTuber has earned a total of 19 million yen ($140,000) in salaries and additional payments.

GaaSyy, who made a statement on Instagram, stated that he had been living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since before the election.
