Russian statement on the grain agreement

Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said they hope to implement the Russia part of the Grain Corridor Agreement, which is due to expire on March 18.

Peskov made statements to journalists on current affairs in the capital, Moscow.
Noting the extension of the Grain Corridor Agreement signed in Istanbul on July 22 between Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and the United Nations (UN), Peskov said: “Contacts on this issue continue. Everyone agrees that the second part of the agreement (the shipment of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers) should be implemented. “We still hope that the second part will be implemented according to the goodwill of the Russian side,” he said.

Peskov stressed that they value UN initiatives on this issue, but that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres could not resist the obstacles created by the West within the scope of the deal, adding: “The deal cannot stand on a leg. In general, extension conditions are relative.

‘WE DO NOT KNOW THE COURT OF THE HAGUE’

Referring to the news that the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands will file a lawsuit against Russia’s crimes in Ukraine, Peskov stressed that they do not recognize this court. Peskov stated that for many years, international courts have turned a blind eye to events in Donbas.

Drawing attention to the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Peskov said: “All of Moscow’s demands are well known. The current situation and new facts are also well known. “The transition to a peaceful path is impossible without considering these complex issues,” he said.

Referring to the dispatch of nuclear-powered submarines to Australia within the scope of the AUKUS alliance established by the US, England and Australia, Peskov said: “There are many question marks here on the issue of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Of course, transparency is needed here. The questions need to be answered,” he said. (AA)
