Insurgent clash in the country! 19 people died
United Nations (UN) radio KDC reported that rebels looted many houses and took many people hostage in the morning attack on the town of Kirindera in North Kivu.
Carly Nzanzu Kasivita, the former governor of North Kivu, said ADF rebels killed 19 people and burned down a hotel, a health center and several houses.
Pecos Kilihi, one of the security guards in North Kivu, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that an operation has been launched to stop the attackers.
40 PEOPLE KILLED
At least 40 civilians were killed Wednesday in an ADF attack in another region.
The ADF, which began operating in Uganda and the KDC in the late 1990s, was formed by former members of movements such as the Uganda National Liberation Army (NALU), the Uganda Muslim Liberation Army, and the Tablighi Jamaat.
Thousands of civilians are said to have been killed and 100,000 people displaced in ADF attacks since 2014. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
