The application of summer-winter time in the US has been discussed again
The newspaper The Washington Post (WP) and the Internet news portal Axios brought up the bill, which was approved in the Senate of Congress last year, to guarantee that the application of daylight saving time is permanent.
Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who introduced the bill to the Senate, told WP of the controversy: “The ritual of changing the time twice a year is stupid. I hope this Congress can finally achieve that.” he shared his statements.
On the other hand, political observers point out that it is not expected to discuss the permanence of summer time on the conjunctural agenda of Congress.
ACCEPTED BY VOTE
The United States Senate, sponsored by Republican Senator Marco Rubio, unanimously accepted the bill drafted last year to make summer time permanent in the country, on March 15, 2022.
However, the bill, which was accepted in the Senate, was not put on the agenda and voted on in the House of Representatives.
If the bill passes the House of Representatives, it will go to the desk of US President Joe Biden to become law.
In the USA, on Sunday, March 12 at 02:00, clocks will go forward one hour and daylight saving time will apply.
In this process, if the permanence of the application of summer time is not decreed, the clocks will be set back one hour on November 5, 2023, returning the application of “winter time”. (AA)
