In the US intelligence’s “2023 Annual Threat Assessment Report”, it was claimed that the leaders of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda wanted to continue using Iran as a “safe haven” while they tried to adapt to the Taliban administration. in Afghanistan.

In the report released by the US National Intelligence Directorate, under the subheading “Global Terrorism”, it was noted that ISIS and Al Qaeda continued to pose a threat to the US in 2023. While the report argues that The organization’s plans in Afghanistan were “turned upside down” by the assassination of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in 2022, the group (Al-Qaeda) continues to rely on its regional partners to maintain its existence. Some al-Qaeda leaders also want to continue using Iran as a safe haven while trying to get used to Taliban restrictions in Afghanistan.

In the report, which touched on China’s pursuit of international sovereignty, the Russia-Ukraine War, and threats to the United States from Iran and North Korea, the report noted that climate change and health security will remain a global problem.
