Pakistan confused, dissidents clashed with police
Supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who announced he would hold a rally in Pakistan, were detained by police on the grounds that they were violating a provincial government decision banning gatherings of more than 4 people at various points in Lahore.
According to Geo News television, many PTI supporters gathered around Khan’s house after the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) party decided to hold a rally in Lahore for the Punjab election campaign. The Punjab government, on the other hand, announced that it had taken a decision banning the gathering of more than 4 people at various points in Lahore ahead of the demonstration.
All kinds of protests, rallies and demonstrations in the state were banned for 7 days due to security threats and traffic disruptions. Despite the provincial government’s decision, police responded with tear gas and TAKES at PTI supporters gathered around Khan’s house.
In the events that occurred, members of the police detained many PTI sympathizers.
PTI leader Han, in a statement on Twitter, reacted to the police intervention.
