German media sabotage allegation

The ARD public broadcaster and the Zeit newspaper reported that authorities conducting the investigation discovered evidence that a pro-Ukrainian group sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines last year.

The report claims that the group of five men and one woman who organized the sabotage went to Rostock in northern Germany in September 2022 and chartered a yacht with fake passports and sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines.

The story, alleging that the investigating authorities found traces of explosives in the yacht’s cabin during forensic investigations, included the claim that the yacht was chartered by a Polish-based company and apparently belonged to two ukrainians.

The report said the group of two divers, two assistant divers, a captain and a paramedic used passports under false names, but German authorities were unable to confirm the saboteurs’ true identities and nationalities.

SABOTAGE WAS ORGANIZED IN 2022

Citing unnamed US government officials, the New York Times reported that US intelligence services had received new intelligence that a pro-Ukrainian group was responsible for the attack.

In the report, it was emphasized that there is no indication that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy or his close colleagues were involved in the incident or that the perpetrators acted on the orders of the Ukrainian government.

The sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022 caused extensive damage to the pipelines connecting Russia and Germany through the Baltic Sea.
