Description of Bahmut by Zelensky

Ukrainian President Zelenskiy made a statement about the city of Bahmut, which lies between the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and is considered a strategic point.

Zelenskiy stated that they will continue to defend the city, where fierce clashes continue, saying: “Today, at the meeting of the General Staff, I directly asked the commander of Khortytsia, General Syrskyi, and the commander-in-chief Zaluzhny for their views on the region. of Bahmut, about withdrawing or defending the city and making reinforcements. ‘Don’t withdraw and reinforce’, both generals said. This opinion was unanimously supported. No other opinion was given,” he said.

Emphasizing that no part of Ukraine is considered an expendable region, Zelenskiy said: “There is no part of Ukraine that can be said to be abandoned. There is no Ukrainian trench where the resilience and heroism of our fighters is overlooked. We are destroying the invader everywhere, wherever it has consequences for Ukraine. Bahmut gives one of the best results during the Donbas war. We defend and will continue to defend all sides of Ukraine. When the time comes, we will liberate all the cities and towns in our country.”
