Turkish flag colors on a famous building in USA
The Empire State Building in New York was illuminated with the colors of the Turkish flag due to the earthquakes that affected 11 provinces, whose epicenter was the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş.
The historic building was illuminated in red and white colors to remember those who lost their lives in the disaster in Turkey on February 6 and to support the survivors. The building’s administration shared on its Twitter account: “Tonight, the Empire State Building will shine red and white to support the victims of the tragic earthquake that took place on February 6,” the information shared.
Exactly one month after the earthquake, initiatives by the Turkish Consulate General in New York and THY’s New York office influenced the lighting decision of the Empire State Realty Trust, owner of the iconic building. (AA)
