They poisoned over 5,000 students! The country is confused…
According to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Mohammad Hasan Asferi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Commission for Investigation of Poisoning Cases, made statements on the subject.
CASES OF MASS POISONING
Asferi said that a meeting was held yesterday with the participation of the Ministries of Intelligence, Interior, Education, Health, the Revolutionary Guard and the Police Department on cases of mass poisoning.
Referring to the reports presented at the meeting, Asferi announced that more than 5,000 students have been poisoned in 230 schools in 25 states since November 30, 2022.
INVESTIGATION STARTED
Stating that various tests were carried out to determine the cause of the poisoning, the Iranian official stated that the type or source of the poison could not be determined and that investigations are ongoing.
Asferi stated that according to the unconfirmed information, there are claims that there is a gas emission similar to the smell of rotten fruit in some places.
The member of the Investigation Commission, Asferi, added that the Ministry of Health is following the incident seriously and they are waiting for the results from the Ministry.
CASE OF POISONING IN GIRLS’ SCHOOLS IN IRAN
Since November 30, 2022, there have been cases of mass poisoning in schools where most of the female students are educated in Iran. Students present with symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, headache, and numbness in the extremities.
President İbrahim Reisi appointed Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi, Intelligence Minister İsmail Hatib and Health Minister Bahram Aynullahi on March 1 to investigate the alleged poisoning incidents.
According to the claims of opponents of the regime, behind the cases of mass poisoning are some radical groups within the Iranian administration who want to avenge the Mahsa Emini demonstrations led by women.
Sources close to the Tehran administration, on the other hand, claim that anti-regime elements were involved in the incident, aiming to provoke the public against the administration. (AA)
