Khamenei: They must not be pitied and their punishment must be exemplary

According to the Mehr news agency, Khamenei, in his speech on the occasion of “Tree Planting Day”, referred to cases of poisoning in schools where girls are educated, which caused concern throughout the country.

Khamenei said: “The authorities are working on the issue, I know, they should seriously consider the issue based on the importance of the event.” saying.

Pointing out the possibility of a criminal network or organizational structure involved, Khamenei stated that this crime, which causes anxiety and fear in society, cannot be tolerated.

Emphasizing that this is a “great crime” because it is committed against the most innocent part of society, i.e. children, Khamenei said:

“The intelligence and security bodies must identify the main agents of the incident. The perpetrators of the incident, the criminals, must be tried and punished with the most severe penalty. They should not be pitied and their punishment should be exemplary.”

CASE OF POISONING IN GIRLS’ SCHOOLS IN IRAN

Cases of mass poisoning in schools in Iran since November 30, 2022 draw attention. It is claimed that more than 1000 students were poisoned in approximately 100 days in the provinces of Kum, Loristan, Tehran, Ardebil, Kermanshah, Simnan, Mazenderan, Cheharmahal and Bakhtiari, Elburz and Rezevi Khorasan. Students present with symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, headache, and numbness in the extremities.

Aliriza Monadi Sefidan, chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Research and Technology, who works on poisoning cases whose causes have not yet been clearly explained, said: “Based on monitoring and test results, it was determined that N2 ( nitrogen ) gas was found in the poison used in schools.” had made a statement.

Yunus Penahi, Iran’s Vice Minister of Education and Education, stated that they assessed the poisoning of students as intentional at a press conference on February 26, saying, “It was determined that some people wanted all schools, especially girls’ schools, be closed.” he said.

President İbrahim Reisi appointed Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi, Intelligence Minister İsmail Hatib and Health Minister Bahram Aynullahi on March 1 to investigate the alleged poisoning incidents.

According to the claims of opponents of the regime, there are some radical groups within the Iranian administration who want to avenge the Mahsa Emini demonstrations led by women.

Sources close to the Tehran administration, on the other hand, claim that anti-regime elements seeking to incite people against the administration are behind the incident.

MAHSA EMINI SHOWS

Mahsa Emini, 22, died on September 16, 2022 in Tehran, the capital of Iran, after being detained by Irshad patrols, known as the “morality police”, and taken to hospital after falling ill.

Demonstrations that began on September 17, 2022 in Sakkız, her hometown after Emini’s death, spread across the country and turned into anti-government protests.

Nearly 500 protesters were killed and more than 100 security guards lost their lives in the months-long events. (AA)
