Schoolgirls poisoned in Iran
According to the official Iranian agency IRNA, new cases of poisoning were observed in the provinces of North Khorasan, Fars, Rezevi Khorasan, Isfahan, Ilam and Khuzestan.
Ebulkasim Akbari, Director General of Education in North Khorasan, announced that 46 students from two schools in Bocnurd province were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning.
Akbari stated that the students had complaints such as nausea, weakness and dizziness and that their condition was good.
In the cities of Shiraz and Servistan in Fars province, 24 students were hospitalized with similar symptoms.
It was noted that dozens of students were hospitalized with similar complaints in Eyvan in Ilam province, Kashan in Isfahan province, Mashhad in Rezevi Khorasan province and Ahvaz in Khuzestan province.
On the other hand, it was recorded that 700 female students have been poisoned so far in 6 cities of Khuzestan province, and 200 of these female students have been placed under observation.
HUNDREDS OF CASES SINCE NOVEMBER
Cases of mass poisoning in schools in Iran since November 30, 2022 draw attention.
It is claimed that more than two thousand students were poisoned in approximately 100 days in the provinces of Kum, Loristan, Tehran, Ardebil, Kermanshah, Simnan, Mazenderan, Cheharmahal and Bakhtiari, Elburz, North Khorasan, Zanjan, Fars, West Azerbaijan, Khuzestan and Rezevi Khorasan.
Students present with symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, headache, and numbness in the extremities.
Aliriza Monadi Sefidan, chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Research and Technology, who works on cases of poisoning, the cause of which has not yet been clarified, said: “According to the results of monitoring and testing, it was determined that N2 gas ( diazot) in the poison used in schools. she had made a statement.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Education and Training Yunus Penahi stated at a press conference on February 26 that they assessed the poisoning of the students as intentional, saying, “It was determined that some people wanted all schools to be closed, especially those in girls.” he said.
President İbrahim Reisi appointed Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi, Intelligence Minister İsmail Hatib and Health Minister Bahram Aynullahi on March 1 to investigate the alleged poisoning incidents.
In a March 3 statement, the chief described the poisoning cases as “a plot by the enemy to create fear and despair among the people.”
According to the claims of opponents of the regime, there are some radical groups within the Iranian administration who want to avenge the Mahsa Emini demonstrations led by women.
Iranian Education Minister Yusuf Nouri made a statement on the ongoing poisoning cases on March 5: “We understand parents’ concerns and apologize. We take the matter seriously. We hope that the matter will be clarified as soon as possible.” he had used the words.
