‘War crimes tribunal’ step for Ukraine

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union (EU) Commission, stated that an international center will be established in The Hague, Netherlands, for the investigation of crimes committed in the Ukrainian war, and this is the first step. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin must be held accountable. “We must do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he said.

Von der Leyen affirmed that for this reason the EU supports the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and said: “We believe that a special court is necessary where crimes committed by Russia are judged.” The President of the European Commission, von der Leyen, stressed that the signing of an agreement on the establishment of an international center for the investigation of war crimes in The Hague, the Netherlands, at the conference held in Ukraine this weekend, It will be the first step of the special warfare. court to be established.

According to information provided by the EU Commission, a revised agreement on the existing joint investigation team within Eurojust, the EU’s criminal justice cooperation agency, will be signed at the conference in Ukraine.

The joint investigation team will be tasked with investigating international crimes committed in Ukraine and collecting evidence. The team will include experts from the ICC, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia and Romania. (AA)
