Statement on Cancer from US President Biden’s Physician

The White House released Dr. O’Connor’s report on the results of a biopsy carried out on February 16 of a lesion on Biden’s chest.

O’Connor claimed that the biopsy lesion was a type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma. “All the cancerous tissue was successfully removed.” he used the phrase. Explaining that the area around the biopsy site was also treated with electrodesiccation, O’Connor said there was no need for additional treatment.

O’Connor noted that basal cell carcinoma lesions are not prone to metastasis.

On the other hand, the doctor pointed out that these lesions have the potential to grow in size. Stating that the biopsy site has healed, O’Connor said the president’s condition will be monitored as part of his routine checkups.

On February 17, the White House shared Dr. O’Connor’s report with detailed information on Biden’s state of health, which is usually on the agenda of the American public, since he is 80 years old.

Noting that Biden’s state of health is “adequate to carry out his presidential duties,” O’Connor noted that a biopsy of a lesion on the president’s chest had been performed, but the results were not yet available. (AA)
