Finnish police launch investigation into PKK provocation
In the statement issued by the Turkish Embassy in Helsinki, it was said that the police had opened an investigation into the incident that took place near the embassy building on Sunday, and a detailed report was requested from the security authorities.
According to Finnish media reports, supporters of the PKK terrorist organization burned an image allegedly belonging to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan near the Turkish embassy in Helsinki on February 26.
It was stated that the sympathizers of the terrorist organization, made up of about 20 people and masked, did not give prior notice to the police, and the provocateurs were intervened with the attention of the patrols of the security forces that were waiting near the embassy.
Four people, two of whom are Finns and the rest foreigners, were said to have been detained on suspicion of resisting, harassing and insulting an official, and later released. (AA)
