Greece held joint exercises with Israel and the United States in Western Thrace

The joint military exercise called Thrace Cooperation-23, organized by the Israeli, Greek and US infantry forces in Western Thrace, has ended. In a written statement from the Israeli army, it was claimed that the joint military exercise by Israeli, Greek and US ground forces, which simulated multiple scenarios and was carried out on Greek soil, has been completed. Tanks and heavy weapons were used in the exercise. Approximately 700 soldiers from three countries took part in the exercise, which was held in Xanthi province, 60 kilometers from the Turkish border.

In the statement, it was stated that the exercise covered several areas, including conflicts in overcrowded neighborhoods, logistics during war, night warfare, engineering capabilities, artillery and border protection, with a focus on military innovations and the management of international professional dialogue. It was affirmed that the exercise represents a fundamental and important mechanism in the relations between the armies to develop and strengthen the capacities to face and combat regional threats. Tal Wallenberg, Israel’s military attaché in Athens, also noted that the exercise is a reflection of continuing important relations and cooperation with the Greek Ground Forces.
