EU bans TikTok to its employees

The European Union (EU) Commission has instructed its employees to remove the TikTok app from their private and corporate phones.

According to news on the Politico website, the EU Commission, which operates as the executive body of the Union, has banned the use of the social media app TikTok for its employees for security reasons.

In this context, all Commission employees were instructed to remove the app from their personal or corporate devices with any work-related apps installed in the morning. Other EU institutions, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament, are expected to take similar steps in the near future.

TikTok, owned by the Chinese technology firm, raises national security concerns in some countries. In the US, TikTok has been banned for use on devices used for the official service. (AA)
