Finland: It is up to Turkey to become a NATO member at the same time as Sweden
Finnish President Niinistö met Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Norwegian Prime Minister Gahr Store in Harpsund, Sweden. The leaders held a press conference after the meeting.
Sauli Niinistö said: “Finland’s NATO accession process continues together with Sweden. We want to join NATO hand in hand with Sweden. But we can’t do anything about it, the approval is in the hands of Turkey, I don’t know what Turkey is thinking right now.” he used his statements.
“OUR MEETINGS WITH TURKEY CONTINUE”
Swedish Prime Minister Kristersson stated that NATO talks with Turkey are continuing, saying: “The Scandinavian region has its own conditions. Our cooperation will add depth to NATO. When Sweden and Finland become NATO members, our region will be the northernmost part of NATO. Our talks with Turkey for NATO membership continue.” he said.
“RUSSIA USES VERY DANGEROUS METHODS”
Norwegian Prime Minister Gahr Store, on the other hand, stated that Finland and Sweden support NATO membership and that these countries will add strength to NATO.
“Russia has become increasingly unpredictable. Very different and dangerous methods such as cyber warfare and hybrid warfare are used from Russia to Scandinavian countries. When we think about it from this perspective, it is important that Sweden and Finland join NATO.” saying. (AA)
