North Korea’s nuclear tests threaten millions in the region
According to local South Korean press reports, a report published by a human rights group based in the capital city of Seoul claimed that the water resources used by millions of people in the region were exposed to radioactive materials released by the Punggye- ri nuclear test facility.
The report stated that the nuclear facility threatened 8 cities and towns around it, which are home to millions of people, and that it could threaten many people in South Korea, Japan and China due to agricultural and fishery products.
The report stated that the results of the investigation were based on medical and nuclear experts, as well as intelligence sources from the United Nations (UN) and the South Korean government.
Noting the importance of the investigation findings, Hubert Young-hwan Lee, leader of the human rights group and researcher, said: “This report is important because it shows that North Korea’s nuclear tests can threaten the right to life. and the health of not only the people of North Korea, but also those of South Korea and other neighboring countries is important.” he used his statements.
