UN: We will continue to support Turkey

Organizations affiliated with the United Nations Organization (UN) declared that they will continue their support to Turkey and Syria after the 6.4 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in the Defne district of Hatay.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), shared on his Twitter account: “We are concerned about concussions causing further loss of life, injury and trauma in Turkey and Syria. WHO teams are supporting health workers and mobile clinics in both countries with medical supplies so they can provide emergency care to anyone in need.”

Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, said in a statement on Twitter that the new earthquake caused fear and harm to all those who have experienced anguish and loss due to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Grandi noted that teams from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are continuing their earthquake relief efforts in the affected areas.

Yesterday at 8:04 p.m. local time, there was a magnitude 6.4 earthquake, whose epicenter was in the Defne district of Hatay, which was felt in some neighboring provinces and countries. (AA)
