Thousands of Israelis take to the streets against Netanyahu
Thousands of Israelis protested in front of Parliament against the controversial judicial regulation of the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
While the mass protests against the Netanyahu government’s bill restricting the powers of the judiciary are long past the seventh week, this time the direction of the protest was the Assembly in West Jerusalem, where the bill will be voted on. Thousands of people gathered in front of Parliament at the call of professional groups such as non-governmental organizations, lawyers and the country’s high technology and health sector.
In addition to West Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other cities were also the scene of demonstrations. During the demonstrations in Tel Aviv, hundreds of people blocked the Azrieli crossing in the center of the city and prevented the passage of vehicles.
On the other hand, today it will be held in the Assembly. For the proposal to become law, it must be approved in all three sessions of the Assembly. (AA)
