Greek aid continues for earthquake victims in Turkey

With the coordination of the Attiki State Presidency, approximately 21,500 blankets, 7.5 tons of medicines and 2.5 tons of medical supplies collected with the contributions of the Union of Municipalities of Greece and the Athens Medical Association left the Stadium of Peace and Friendship in Piraeus with a ceremony. .

Turkey’s Ambassador to Athens Çağatay Erciyes and Athens-Pire Consul General Mustafa Somuncu also followed the 46 trucks that set off to reach the earthquake victims in Turkey at the exit point.

Earthquake victims, whose houses were destroyed by the earthquake that struck the village of Vrissa on the island of Lesbos in 2017, sent relief materials to Turkey.

According to news from the Greek State Television ERT, the villagers of Vrissa handed over the relief materials they called “love packages” to the relevant units of the Greek Red Cross to be sent to the earthquake victims in Turkey. (AA)
