The funerals of 1590 Syrians who lost their lives in the earthquakes were brought to their countries
According to information obtained by the AA correspondent from local authorities, the bodies of Syrians who died in the earthquakes are being transferred to their countries through the Cilvegözü border gate in Hatay’s Reyhanlı district.
Before the bodies of the Syrians are delivered to their countries, their relatives take them to the Reyhanlı cemetery and search them. Then they transfer it to the Cilvegözü border gate and deliver it to the Babülhava border gate opposite here with funeral vehicles.
The families waiting in Babülhava take the corpses of their relatives and bury them in the regions where they live.
The bodies of the 1590 Syrians who died in the Turkey earthquakes have been delivered to their countries in this way so far.
In this process, more than 6,000 Syrians residing in 11 provinces affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş entered Syria to meet the burial and shelter needs of their relatives.
Transitions from Turkey to Syria take place through Öncüpınar in Kilis and the Akçakale border gate in Şanlıurfa, in addition to Cilvegözü.
Mazen Alluş, General Relations and Media Officer at the Babülhava Border Gate, stated that bodies have been coming through the border gate since the first day of the earthquake, adding: “There are families who have lost 10 or 15 members, as well as families whose members have all passed away.” saying.
