British rescuers return: Earthquake teams were greeted with water jewelery
Returning to England yesterday, the UK International Search and Rescue Team (UK ISAR) aircraft was greeted with an aviation salute at the airport and a water decoration ceremony was held for the aircraft.
Along with the UK ISAR image, “The UK ISAR team was safe and sound. We are all proud of each and every one of you.”
Malcolm Russell from the medical team shared the message: “The moments we spent in Turkey will always stay with us, as will our thoughts for the people of Turkey and Syria.” Deborah Swann from the team said she couldn’t find the words to express her experience.
WATER JEWELS GREETING
In this salute, two fire trucks parked on either side of the runway fire water cannons at each other to create a giant arc of water over a plane flying through the middle.
This salute, called water jewelry, is an aviation tradition for special flights, such as the return home of the Olympic team.
