Spanish search and rescue team: We never thought we would face such a disaster
Having completed their work in Kahramanmaraş, the 9-person team arrived in Istanbul and was welcomed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IGA officials from the Istanbul Airport administration.
Saying that they are a group of firefighters who are experts in search and rescue operations, Luque affirmed that they asked the Turkish embassy in Spain to transfer them to the field from the moment they received the news of the earthquake.
Noting that they reached the Turkish government through the embassy, Luque said: “We came here to do our job with a lot of hope, but we never thought we would face such a disaster.” he said.
Expressing that the Turkish people are generous and hospitable, Luque said: “The Turkish people have been very generous and hospitable to us even in the most difficult times. We are filled with the pain and sadness of not being able to serve this people anymore. The Spanish government will continue to support Turkey more after this disaster.” saying. (AA)
