Scandal of the sleeping rubber in the kindergarten

A former daycare director in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, has been accused of giving children gum containing melatonin (the sleep hormone) without their parents’ consent.

According to court documents, Pastor David Faulk told police he learned that Tonya Rachelle Voris, 52, director of the New Life Church day care center in Cumberland, and an employee gave melatonin gum to 17 children, ages 1 to 4 years, without the consent of their parents. . Faulk noted that Voris was fired after he confessed, but the other person still works at the daycare.

Voris will be charged with 17 counts of negligence and irresponsible behavior in the care of children in his custody.

Some parents reported to the police that their children experienced side effects such as difficulty sleeping and rashes on the body.

According to prison records, Voris was released on bail after being arrested. (AA)
