US publishes report on ‘camps where Russia is keeping Ukrainian children’

In a written statement issued by the Ministry’s Office of the Spokesperson, the report, produced with the support of Yale University, noted that Russia has established a network of detention systems “to educate and adopt Ukrainian children smuggled out of war zones.”

The statement noted that Russia operates a systematic network of at least 40 childcare centers that have been described as “a potential war crime for thousands of Ukrainian children,” according to a new report prepared under the program “to hold Russia accountable.”

In the ministry’s statement, documents and information about the establishment by the Kremlin administration of a network of camps stretching from the Black Sea coast to Siberia were shared in the report titled “Russia’s systematic program for re-education and adoption of Ukrainian children”.

Emphasizing that this is a violation of the Geneva Convention, the statement said: “Russia should share registration lists of displaced and deported Ukrainian children and allow independent outside observers access to relevant facilities in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine and inside Russia.” expressions were used.

The statement says that this report and similar information reinforce the determination of the United States and the international community to hold accountable for all those involved in war crimes and other atrocities committed in Ukraine.

At the end of the statement, it was noted that “the United States will stand with Ukraine and prosecute Russia’s appalling abuses no matter how long they last.”
