As more than 30,000 people lost their lives in the severe earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of which caused sadness and shock in international public opinion, came a mind-blowing statement from the CEO of the German-based tourism company TUI.
The company’s CEO, Sebastian Ebel, said in a statement that holiday bookings to Turkey slowed down after the earthquake, adding that it was a temporary situation.
Ebel said there are “alternative vacation routes” for those who don’t want to go to Turkey. Ebel said: “There are alternative holiday routes to Turkey, these are Spain and Greece.”
The German company, which stands for Touristik Union International, operates in many countries and is managed from the city of Hannover, TUI is one of the largest tourism companies in the country.
